These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Yoce, a family star reward application (“the Service”). By creating an account or using Yoce, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. About Yoce
Yoce is a family reward app that allows parents and guardians to motivate children using a star-based system. Features include star requests, rewards, trophies, badges, and a family display widget.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create a parent or family member account on Yoce. Children's profiles within the app are created and managed by a parent or guardian — children do not register independently.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. Yoce cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to keep your account secure. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account.
You may invite family members and other adults to join your family account. You are responsible for ensuring all invited members comply with these Terms.
4. Price
Yoce is free. There is no subscription, no trial, and no premium tier. Every feature is available to every family without payment.
We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features in the future, but if we do, we will give existing accounts at least 30 days' notice and the option to continue using the free tier you signed up under.
We do not display ads, we do not sell your data, and our revenue does not come from monetising you or your kids. Yoce is supported by the founders. If you'd like to help keep the lights on, the best thing you can do is tell another family about us.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Yoce for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any other family's data
- Reverse engineer, copy, or resell any part of the Service
- Use the Service in a way that harms children or violates child welfare laws
- Upload harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content
6. Children's Accounts
By creating a children's profile on Yoce, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child and consent to the collection and use of limited data (nickname, avatar, and activity within the app) as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for supervising your child's use of any shared device used to access Yoce's child-facing features.
7. Intellectual Property
Yoce and all its content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.
Content you create within the app (family names, reward titles, custom tasks) remains yours. You grant us a limited licence to store and display it solely to operate the Service for you.
8. Service Availability
We aim to keep Yoce available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may occasionally perform maintenance, updates, or experience downtime beyond our control. We will endeavour to provide advance notice of planned maintenance where possible.
9. Limitation of Liability
Yoce is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@yoce.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Upon termination, your data will be retained for 30 days before permanent deletion, unless you request immediate deletion.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice in the app. Continued use of Yoce after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
